July 14, 1910 the Huguenot & New Rochelle Historical Association, established in 1886, opened the Thomas Paine Cottage to the public. Through good times & bad, world wars & pandemics, it has remained a staple in our community.
Friday, June 5th will kick off our America250 celebratory events with Paine's World Weekend. We celebrate Paine's worldwide influence with 2 days of free community events for young and old.

Celebrate Paine's Induction into the Society of United Irishman on June 5, 1792 and Thomas Paine’s "Rights of Man" that fueled the 1790s Irish revolutionary movement.
Entertainment by Tutti Bravi Production players, period inspired tavern games, libations and free light fare offered. Weather permitting, outdoor games & fire pits.
Period costumes encouraged! Let's party like the patriots did!

Children's Activities 1-3pm Rain or Shine Free children's arts & crafts with an America250 and Juneteenth Holiday theme. Create & design your own pinwheel, listen to America250 video story time and weather permitting outdoor games of corn hole, ring toss, badminton. Award winning author and master crafter, Marisa Boan, joins us making patriotic parade wands with all attending children. Each child will leave with a free goodie bag. Come beat the heat, cool down at our run through sprinkler! |

Come help us celebrate Paine's view on slavery and the upcoming Juneteenth holiday.
Nicole A. Taylor will discuss her Juneteenth cookbook "Watermelon & Red Birds" with Dr. Nicole Mahoney.
Limited number of free cookbooks will be available to in person attendees along with a handout of Paine's strong opposition to slavery.
