Join us at the Thomas Paine Cottage as we open the Sophia Brewster Schoolhouse (the oldest private schoolhouse in New Rochelle) and the schoolmarm calls the class to order with the ringing of a bell. Discover the feel, the differences and similarities of 19th Century school days to today. Students will learn their “3-R’s” and receive 19th C diplomas. Back to the top. |
